Japanese Speech Contest

By Hiroki Kurihara, Japanese teacher

Congratulations to Year 11 students Nicole Sagaysay and Joe Krishnapillai, who participated in the State Final of the 46th Annual Japanese Language Speech Contest held at The University of Melbourne on 12 September. The contest embraced the highest achieving students in their VCE study of Japanese, who presented a three-minute speech in Japanese on a topic of their choice. Nicole and Joe spoke about personal and political topics respectively with great passion. Their highly confident, proficient and mesmerising speeches greatly impressed the audience. Nicole and Joe would be happy to share how they prepared for their speeches with you, which would inspire you to learn languages.
