Coronavirus Term 3 Update

Dear Parents, Carers, Students and Elwood Staff,

Welcome back for Term 3! There are a number of updates from the DET in relation to COVID-19 that are below so please take note of these.

QR code use on transport
Students should check-in via a QR code service on public transport (where available) when travelling to and from school and wear a fitted facemask in transit. Elwood College student ID cards all have the PTV logo that can be used as proof of student enrolment. Any student who requires a card can obtain one from the IT help desk.

Student absence due to border restrictions
Students who are required to isolate or undertake home-based quarantine will be provided with lesson plans on Compass to access their learning remotely, until such time that they are permitted to return to school. However, classes will not be delivered remotely.

Visitors
Visitors can attend school sites however face mask obligations must be adhered to by any visitors attending the school site and staff will also wear a facemask during these meetings.

Excursions & School Events
School staff and secondary school students aged 12 or older are required to wear face masks indoors when attending an excursion. With school events (e.g. SRC talent night), face masks must be worn (exemptions permitted) and QR code registration required.

Victorian Interschool Snow Sports and Northern Territory Camp
Currently camps can only go ahead if one school is at the venue with no common facilities and no mixing of groups. We are waiting on DHHS advice regarding any changes to this and should be updated later in the week.

Thank you for your support and I wish you all the best for the new school term.

Regards,

Nick England
Acting Principal
